In 2003, owners Frank Kopecky and Jay Oshesky got their start dealing with stone on a wholesale level with a company called U. S. Stonereps. The majority of the wholesale business was being conducted in Tennessee. There was a lot of commercial construction and many track homes being built at that time and therefore a need for inexpensive granite. The owners thought this type of granite would be beneficial for the Springfield, Illinois area. So they began to call on builders to see if there was any interest, and as they expected, there was interest for this type of granite.
At first, the partners started importing granite slabs from overseas. The granite slabs were precut to size and finished on all edges, ready to be cut to length and installed. There were a variety of six colors of granite and only one type of edge profile. They began cutting and fabricating granite from a small rented space on Brickler Road in Springfield.

The demand for inexpensive granite grew, but with the demand also came a need for change. The customers started requesting different colors and edges and more varieties of stone. The owners purchased the building on Brickler Road on the northeast side of Springfield and opened the most beautiful showroom in Central Illinois in 2006. The showroom serves as a one-stop shop for customers to hand select their stone and even their sinks and faucets.
